Summer holidays bring lots of fun :)

Sorry I have been absent lately, but the summer holidays have arrived and they bring lots of plans and fun with them.
We had our first day of family fun enjoying a picnic at the park with our cousins and we had a great day. Here are some pictures of what we got up too.
I love this pic of the girls :)
Everyone had a great day, we ate picnic and played in the park, made sandcastles and explored the surrounding woods. We found some really cool sculptures! We had ice creams before playing some more.
After we headed back to my cousins house and had some more fun there, playing dizzy dinosaurs and Simon says.
It was a lovely girly day and everyone enjoyed themselves. Days like these are why I love the summer holidays :)

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the lovely daddy's out there. We woke daddy up in our house this morning to a big full English breakfast in bed with some homemade cards from the girls.
We also made daddy a yummy and very chocolate filled cake for his Father's Day treat and we had his favourite for dinner.
Daddy was if course in charge of the days activities and he decided to go for one of our family drives which usually involve driving around the countryside a and villages until we find something new or interesting.
Well today we hit the jackpot. There were so many things going on that we found completely by accident. We stumbled across some sort of horse show/ racing that we watching for around half an hour which the girls loved as they both like horses.
Next we came across an airfield where they were flying small planes and gliders. We watched these taking off and landing and circling the sky for around an hour before heading back into the road.
Then we really struck gold!!
Layla came face to face with her 1st ever real life, on the ground helicopter! She is obsessed with helicopters and gets so excited whenever one flies by so you can imagine how she reacted when we stumbled upon this beauty just casually parked up in a pub car park.
The man who was with the helicopter was super nice and let the girls have a look around and take some pictures. He told them a bit about it, answered there questions and even told us when he would be taking off so Layla could see how it got up in the air. She said thankyou to the man about a million times and he said she was very sweet and he was pleased he could make her happy.
We waited in the car until it took off and Layla was surprised that it nearly blew her over! Courtney laughed a lot at being blown all around and the ducks all running away.
It was an experience I don't think either of them will quickly forget and they both excitedly chatted about it all the way home, "Courtney did you see this" "Layla did you see that"
We came home and after our dinner all had a slice of daddy's cake, it was delicious and well worth staying up half the night making.
We have had a great Father's Day here, and I hope everyone else did too :)

Were at the zoo :)

The weather here has been so nice lately, were having so much fun. We took a trip to the nearest zoo we have by us, it's not the best but it's enough to have a fun day out with the family and there's plenty of room to have picnics and icecreams. They also have a playground area so you can really make a day of it.

The girls both love animals so much, it really wouldn't surprise me if one of them needed up in a career with animals when there older. The highlight of the visit for them both was that the meerkats had babies so we spent a lot of time watching then digging and running around playing together, they were super adorable :)

The whole family had a great time and the girls even fed some goats while we were there, Layla was a bit unsure of them at first bit after watching Courtney do it a bit she was more than happy to get stuck in.
The nice weather doesn't seen to be going anywhere so as it's the weekend tomorrow I'm hoping to get the paddling pool out and hopefully we will be getting the playhouse the girls wanted too so I'm sure there will be something new to post about after a weekend of sun, pools, playhouses and BBQs.

Were off to the seaside :)

So after a great day at the sea life centre we decided to head back to the seaside for a day of fun, we had a great day on te rides and in the arcades.
The girls were really happy that they got 2 days out in one week and me and daddy lives seeing there happy faces. We found a machine in te arcade where we won so many prizes the girls thought it was great :)
Coming home we got stopped at a level crossing which normally is a boring part of a journey but Layla is so in love with trains right now it was actaully fun guessing where the train was coming from and seeing her face when she seen it zoom past was priceless
What a great way to finish off half term :)

Day trip to Great Yarmouth

We headed out for a day trip to the sea life centre in Great Yarmouth and we had a great day. It was a long drive so when we arrived we stopped off for some lunch.
The girls were super excited to see all the fish so we headed into the sealife centre after that and we seen some really amazing animals and set ups.
We walked through a tunnel and looked at all the sharks and turtles and took some pictures. I love this one of the girls with there daddy.
After the sealife centre we went for a walk along the seafront and we spotted this horse and carriage which the girls loved as soon as they seen it so of course we had a ride
We spent some time in the arcade and along the beach before grabbing some ice creams and heading home.

The girls had a fantastic day and it was so nice to be out in the sea air with all my favourite people. Family time is the best.
